A Vocation View
John the Baptist

John the Baptist, whose feast we celebrate today, is a perfect
model of Vocational Call. John listened to Jesus, recognized
Jesus and responded to Jesus with generosity and love.

Eucharistic Adoration
The Worship Commission would like to thank all who have
signed up to spend one hour with Jesus at our monthly
Eucharistic Adoration with Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament over the last 2 years. For those who haven't had
the opportunity, if there's anything you need to thank or
praise God for, to express sorrow for, or to ask for, know
that He waits for you to come and spend some time with Him
present in the monstrance at our next Day of Eucharistic
Adoration, Monday, July 2, 2007 from 9 AM to 7 PM. The day
of adoration and prayer closes with Benediction at 7:00 PM.
All are invited to join us any time during the day as well
as for Benediction. We are in need of people to sign up
for an hour of adoration, especially in the middle of the
day. Please see the large sign-up poster in the back of
church.
The question is often asked, "What do I do during this one
hour with Our Lord?" Some ideas would include the
following: simple, quiet conversation with Jesus; praying
the rosary, praying the Stations of the Cross; reading
scripture slowly, thoughtfully, prayerfully; praying
devotional prayers; journaling (writing down our thoughts,
aspirations and prayers); prayerfully reading spiritual
books or pamphlets. The parish provides some special
prayer books for this devotion.
