Text Box: General Policies
1. Pick-up/Drop-off procedure:
Because of heavy traffic on Wednesday afternoons, all pre-school through grade 2 students must be dropped off and picked up in the classroom by a responsible adult or older sibling. Our primary concern is the safety of the children. You may enter the building from the front or back door. If you have another adult picking up your child, you must fill out a parental designate form which is kept on file in the office.
2. Emergency Closings:
Should weather cause the cancellation of classes on Wednesdays, the information will be broadcast on WGN and WBBM radio, local television stations and at www.EmergencyClosings.com.
3. Visitors:
All visitors must come to the REO to sign in.

Student Policies
1. Attendance:
It is essential that the children be in attendance at all sessions. This is even more critical in a
sacramental prep year, i.e. grades 2 and 8.
Therefore, if a child is absent more than 3 times in a sacramental year, his or her eligibility to receive the sacrament will be subject to
evaluation.
2. Absence:
Joliet Diocesan Policy mandates that the RE office must be notified before the start of class if a student is to be absent. Notify us by note or call 832-8962, stating the child’s name, grade, catechist and
reason for the absence. You may also e-mail us at mqhmawoods@sbcglobal.net. E-mails must reach the office by Tuesday before class. Parents will be
contacted by phone if they have not reported their child’s absence.
3. Discipline:
Christian behavior is expected at all grade levels at all times. This includes respect of all people, places and things. If infractions of classroom rules occur, they are handled first at the catechist level, second at the director’s level and at the third offense,
parents will be consulted.
