About Us A choir adds spiritually to the liturgy by reinforcing and embellishing the congregational singing as well as singing music composed for choir alone.

Our choir master has 35 years of experience as a church musician and a master’s degree in church music from Concordia University . He is an accomplished organist, conductor and published composer. He fervently believes that average parishioners can come together to form an outstanding choir. If you are interested in joining our exceptional choir please contact the choir director Ed Nowak. By phone at (708)246-0868 or email at musicdirector@maryqueen.org
When We Meet Every Thursday from 7:30pm until 9:00pm in choir loft
Latest News
     (Sept, 2010)

Our choir for the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass will have rehearsals on Thursdays at 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM in the choir loft beginning on September 9 and 16.  The choir will begin singing at 10:30 AM Mass on September 19. (We warm up at 9:45 AM in Barrett Hall)

The only requirement is the ability to match a pitch from the organ by singing "Ah."  Tone quality is not a concern as that can be developed  at rehearsals.

The choir can be a uplifting and fulfilling way of serving God.  Singing with the others in the choir has its own special reward when your voice becomes part of the whole glorious sound.  The blend of the choir makes this possible even with ordinary voices.

This year we are also inviting people to be part of the choir on a limited basis for the singing of the "Hallelujah Chorus" by Handel at Christmas Midnight Mass.  A person wanting to get a taste of the choir in this limited way would only attend the beginning of rehearsal on Thursdays at 7:30 PM starting in October, and then sing with us on Christmas without joining us for Sundays at the 10:30 PM.

Please come to rehearsal or call Ed Nowak at 708-246-0868 for more information.
